 More than 400 cyclists rode 5, 17, 35, 55, 67, 100 or 126 miles over scenic Alabama roads on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, in the Glassner Autumn Challenge, a recreational ride put on by the Montgomery Bicycle Club, complete with food, support, and entertainment at the start/finish at the ASU football stadium. It's not a race. Rider packets included information about Major Taylor, and a contingent from Major Taylor Cycling Club of Alabama did the ride. Participants voted for historically Black colleges and universities to receive proceeds from the event to put toward bike infrastructure in their pursuit of Bike Friendly University designation from the League of American Bicyclists. The recipients are: Alabama State University, $500; Alabama A&M University, $300; Tuskegee University, $100. See photos from the ride weekend here and here.
