Whirlwinds: Bicycles and Weather"

Popular Culture/American Culture Association highlighted bicycling’s
1890s heyday in a panel discussion of “Worcester Whirlwinds” at its annual
conference. Lynne Tolman of the
Major Taylor Association spoke about Major Taylor, bike historian David
V. Herlihy presented “The Bicycle Boom: Revolution or Revival?” and John
M. O’Toole, author of “Tornado! 84 minutes, 94 Lives,” talked about the
